Visiting with our Nieces Ü

Our nieces came to visit us this past Sunday and what a treat that was...as always! Our niece Rae'lani lives locally which is great and we get to see her as much as we can. Her sister Aaliyah, on the other hand, lives down in San Bernardino so it was extra special to have her visit us as well since we don't see her that often. Anyhow, we just wanted to write about how much these little girls mean to us! We love them both and they are such a silly and fun pair to hang out with. Rae'lani is a wonderful big sister and Aaliyah is so funny. It was nice spending a little time with them this weekend...as well as with our sister-in-law Tiffany. Thanks for visiting us guys!

Our Finished Pottery Pieces

On Monday (03/30) I picked up the kids after school and we headed on over to Belmont Shore to pick up our pottery pieces. They turned out incredible! The kids were absolutely amazed at how they looked after being glazed and baked in the kilns. Anyhow, we'll definitely be returning again to create more wonderful art pieces. :0) Here they are!

Sariah's Special Day

Fred and I decided that we wanted to have a special day for each of our girls to do something special and fun and especially to spend quality time together and to show them how much we love each of them. So, we started off with our oldest, Sariah. We gave her the choice of either having her day to herself or with her sister Madysen, and of course she wouldn't go without her sister. :0) We knew that she loved art so we took her to Color Me Mine which is a pottery painting studio. Oh...and our nephew Hadyn came along with us too! lol When we got there, they were so excited to see all the different choices of pottery and they took forever trying to pick out the perfect one. When they finally made a decision, Sariah had a heart-shaped plate, Hadyn had a dragon piggybank, Madysen had a turtle, Fred had a large cup and I had a vase. We picked paint colors and went to work!
Painting and creating was definitely a blast and the kids got right into it...literally! lol Of course, Mr. Professional "Daddy" had no problem designing and has already made plans to go back and paint something else (I think minus the kids this time lol).

All in all, Sariah had a wonderful Special Day and we enjoyed spending it with her. We can't wait to see what our finished pieces look like in a week, after they fire them in the kilns. We ended the night with dinner at BJ's (which is always yummy) and dessert at Pinkberry. :0) I'll keep you posted on how the final pieces turn out!

Madysen's a big girl...again.

Well, I've been meaning to make this post for a while now, but I've never gotten the chance to. So here we are! Madysen has been sleeping in our bed for quite some time now and we always have to wait for her to fall asleep (saving ourselves the "joy" of a tantrum & crying lol) before we put her in her crib. So we decided to convert her crib to a toddler bed to see if she'd like it.

We went shopping for a bed set and for a few wall decorations (since we knew that since Sariah has those on her side of the room, that Mady would want some too). We put everything together and fixed her bed and she was SO excited! She loved her new "big girl" bed and it's been two weeks since then, and Madysen has slept in her bed every night!
And now that Madysen enjoys her bed, she also enjoys being in the room more often than she used to...so Sariah has made it clear that she's looking forward to the day that we move and buy a home so that she can have an entire Hannah Montana room to herself! lol Even though I'm a bit sad that my babies are growing up...it's still fun to see the changes that come to pass each and every day.

Madysen's Drawing

Today Mady started drawing the cutest pictures...faces! We've never seen her draw "people" yet, and it was a surprise as we sat in the living room, when she began to color and draw them. At just over 2 1/2, this little girl never ceases to amaze us! :0)
